Line managers have a difficult job. They have to do the job as well as deal with people problems. They often do not have any specific training in managing the people resource. They need a series of methods, which will allow them to function more confidently and with more skill in people management. This course is designed to enable participants have a deeper appreciation of the strategic human resource approach and employee relations issues that need not be escalated; and thereby improve on business results.

  • Effective performance reviews, discipline and documentation
  • Discrimination, retaliation and harassment
  • Firing/termination
  • Fairness – engendering respect for management and creating a positive working environment

Module 3: Delivering on the people management mandate

  • Motivating employees for improved productivity and efficiency
  • The impact of effective people management in a digital age and post-covid era on the business results of the unit
  • Managing the self to achieve higher productivity
  • Personal action plan
